During the reign of Mangal Singh Prabhakar Bahadur (Maharaja of Alwar 1874-1892) arrangements were made with the East India Company for the use of their mint at Calcutta of the same weight and assay as the Imperial rupee, but in the name of Alwar. The issues began in 1877 and ended in 1891.
